Syrian Airways was established by the government
of Syria in 1946. It started with DC-3 Dakotas
and later DC-6. In 1961 The airline changed
its name to Syrian Arab Airlines. In the mid
60's, Syrian Arab Airlines (SYRIANAIR)
operated its first Jet Airliner the Super
Caravelle. In the mid 70's the Jumbo Jets
entered its fleet. Today the airline
operates an extensive routes in the Middle
East, Europe and North Africa. It also
serves the Indian Subcontinent.
